As usual it has been a busy month and I have just returned from Jakarta, Indonesia where I attended the ‘ozmine 2013’ conference and exhibition.
‘ozmine2013’ is Australia’s premier mining event in South-East Asia. This year’s theme – Australia and ASEAN: Partnering for Performance – signifies how business people throughout the region are linking with Australian expertise to improve efficiency and boost productivity. ozmine2013 provides the perfect opportunity to build these relationships further.
The ozmine conference brings together key Indonesian, Australian and ASEAN industry and government players to identify and analyse major trends, opportunities and challenges in the mining sector across this fast-growing region.
At the exhibition Australian companies offer innovative, competitive and high quality products and services for the mining and METS (mining equipment, technology & services) sectors.
The conference was well attended by Australian companies and officials and I noted a keen interest by Indonesian companies to have Australian businesses operating in Indonesia.
I also met several attendees at this conference who expressed particular interest in being involved with TropLinks business missions in the Asia Pacific Regions in the future.
And on that note, we are currently in the planning stages of future business missions for 2013 and are keen to receive your feedback on destinations you would see as beneficial and would like to see TropLinks focus on.
In particular, we see PNG and Guam/Micronesia as exceptional destinations and areas that we can continue to develop, grow and help TropLinks members access.
I look forward to receiving your valueable feedback. I can be contacted via Ph 07 4033 0586 or president@troplinks.com.
